ABOUT
The Veltmans are a 4 piece indie rock band from Eastbourne. Underestimate all of those words at your own loss.
Having cut their teeth as a busy young indie band across the South, with countless gigs constantly carving their sound, and musical experimentation now under their belt, it’s left them confidently straddling a monumental alt-rock, shoegaze and emo tinged island of sound. In a crowded sea of mediocre, The Veltmans truly have something to say, through gritted teeth and explosively delivered choruses, they deliver a message, they mean it. Each and every word. And they want you to shut the fuck up and listen.
The Veltmans give throwbacks to the best of late 00/10 indie stalwarts like The Maccabees and Bombay Bicycle Club later endeavours. They blend a maturity of musicianship, storytelling and vocal delivery that take bands 3 albums to achieve. If they’re lucky.
Reverb laden scapes ebb and flow into the crunchy distortion of post punk guitars and back again, busy drums kick it along and wash it all together into a beautiful and jagged melting pot. Huge, absolutely monstrous choruses, with riffs that completely side swipe your expectations of where the song would go. Vocal dynamics range from dialect inflected heartfelt tales told close, fragile falsetto into full blown screams, to convey such a pure and unfettered level of frustration and anger at the world, it makes you stop in your tracks, and wonder why the actual fuck have I not heard this band before.
The Veltmans are: Will - Vocals and Guitar, Josh - Guitar, George - Bass, Sean - Drums
